Bhav Patel, PA-C

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Bhav Patel, PA-C. Bhav graduated with his Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from Thomas Jefferson University. Prior to PA school, Bhav attended Temple University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience. He is looking forward to becoming board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine. He enjoys primary care because of the ability to establish long-term patient relationships built on mutual trust and respect.


 

The average man works until he is 65, then has 10 years of retirement in sickness, then he dies at age 75. The average woman dies at 79. WE CAN DO BETTER.

In December, we will discuss the surprising science of exercise. They say there are no “hacks” to get the benefits of exercise, BUT INDEED THERE ARE! Dr. Donohue is excited to share some of the secrets that are emerging in the science:

  1. Sarcopenia” is the loss of muscle mass with age. It is a normal process, but it lies at the root of so many of our diseases. We can reverse this form of aging and restore youthful function by replacing fat with muscle.

  2. Mindful Strength Training to Failure can achieve massive muscle gain in just 30 minutes per week. It is so efficient that it can reverse sarcopenia and reverse muscle aging for people who have been sedentary their whole lives.

  3. Hand grip exercises have the surprising ability to reverse aging.

  4. A large body of science has discovered that Eccentric Strengthening is the best solution to prevent injury, rehabilitate injured tendons and muscles, and to build strength. And it can even improve bone strength, balance, lipid levels, and metabolic disease (diabetes and prediabetes). In short, we all need to start doing eccentric strength exercises!
