Deborah Zarek, MD, FACP
Dr. Zarek is a native of Los Osos, California. She graduated from George Washington School of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Christiana Care Health Center. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
Her interests include preventive medicine, as well as a special interest in woman’s health. She was Chair of the Young Physician Section of the Medical Society of Delaware for 4 years and received the Delaware Young Physician of the Year award in 2007 “for her leadership and dedication to the medical profession in our state, and for her energy, enthusiasm, and vision in leading the Society’s Young Physician Section since 2005”. Dr. Zarek also served on the National Council of Young Physicians for the American College of Physicians from 2009 until 2012. In 2014, she received the Leonard P. Lange Award from the Delaware Chapter of the American College of Physicians. This annual award is given to honor an internist and Chapter member who “exemplifies in his or her personal and professional life the qualities of an outstanding internist”.
Jayshree Tailor, MD FACP
Dr. Jayshree Tailor is a board-certified internist and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Tailor graduated medical school in 1996 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas in 1999. Since then she has had a broad range of experiences practicing medicine.
Dr. Tailor is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Her practice of medicine is best described as a thorough practice of internal medicine principles, with the addition of evidence-based preventive approaches. Dr. Tailor seeks the healthiest possible outcome, and generally starts with a healthy lifestyle.
David Donohue, MD FACP
Dr. Dave Donohue is a board-certified internist and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is the husband of Dr. Zarek and a medical school classmate of Dr. Tailor.
In November 2017, Dr. Donohue was in the first wave of physicians board-certified by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. He is Delaware's first board certified lifestyle medicine physician.
Dr. Donohue has an IT background, and worked 15 years as a software architect for the DuPont company. He graduated from Brandywine High School and then attended Rice University. He received a MS in Molecular Biology from Stanford University. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1997, and completed his residency in primary care Internal Medicine at George Washington University in 2000.
Dr. Donohue honors the science that shows our health care system is too costly and profit-driven. Drugs are often not the best answer for our long-term health. He strives to stop more medications than he starts.
Dr. Donohue believes that the answer to our most damaging and costly diseases is to reverse them. In November 2016, he launched the Cure Diabetes program. In February 2018, he and Karen Smith launched the Be Well program, designed to reverse any Western chronic disease such as hypertension, heart disease, and to prevent cancer.
Dr. Donohue no longer conducts primary care visits at PHOD. He continues to serve PHOD as Chief Medical Officer and Director of Lifestyle Medicine.
Alyssa Tarburton, PA-C
Alyssa Tarburton is a graduate of Arcadia University’s Physician Assistant Program. Before beginning PA school, Alyssa studied biology at Ursinus College. Alyssa worked in urgent care for several years prior to joining Progressive Health of Delaware. She is originally from Allentown, PA, but relocated to the area for PA school. Outside of work Alyssa enjoys reading, playing with her dog, Maddy, and spending time with her family and friends.
Peggy Corrigan, APN
Peggy started her nursing career graduating from St. Francis School of Nursing to Wilmington University and finally from University of Pennsylvania as an adult nurse practitioner in 1991.
She has worked in primary care, geriatrics, rheumatology, asthma and psychiatry. In the past she has been a certified diabetic, asthma educator and advocate for holistic
medicine. Drawing on her 27 years of practice she is dedicated to treating chronic medical illnesses as well as the psychological (psychiatric) problems that may co exist.
Her passion and commitment to patient care earned her nomination for Excellence in Nursing for Geriatrics and Family Practice Nurse Practitioner in Delaware Today 2015. On a personal note Peggy enjoys hiking with her dogs, yoga and spending time with her friends and grandchildren.
Adelle Trout, MSN, FNP-C
Adelle Trout is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who joined Progressive Health of Delaware in May 2018. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania’s Family Nurse Pracitioner program with a Masters in Nursing, and prior to that completed her Bachelors in Nursing at Johns Hopkins University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honors society of nursing and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Adelle currently lives in Wilmington, DE with her husband, and outside of work loves trail running, hiking, and cooking.
Bryanne Robson, MD
Dr. Bryanne Robson grew up in West Chester, PA. She attended Connecticut College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a concentration in Cell and Molecular Biology. She went on to work in a research laboratory at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston for two years prior to attending medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Robson completed her Family Medicine residency training as chief resident at Crozer-Chester Medical Center and continued to work for the health system for three years after graduation. While at Crozer, she was awarded the Behavioral Science Award, recognized for her research in Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence and was named Resident of the Year.
Dr. Robson has a passion for women’s health and contraception, caring for families across generations and nutrition in medicine. She received a Certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University. Dr. Robson’s philosophy of care is an interactive shared decision making model. She enjoys getting to know patients outside of their diagnoses and medications to understand how health plays a role in their lives.
Dr. Robson is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the American Medical Association, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She is Delaware’s second board certified lifestyle medicine physician.
Emily Anderson, PA-C
Emily Anderson is a graduate of Arcadia University’s Physician Assistant Program. She is originally from Wilmington, Delaware. Prior to graduate school, Emily attended the University of Delaware and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. Her interests include family medicine, with a passion for women’s health. Outside of work, Emily enjoys working out at Orangetheory Fitness, taking trips to Stone Harbor, and spending time with friends and family.
Karen Smith, RD, CDE
Karen received her bachelor of science degree in dietetics from the University of Delaware, where she also completed her dietetic internship. Karen has extensive experience working with folks to achieve their best on all levels, and in addition to being a registered dietitian is:
